Artificial intelligence for the military can be taught through games

It is assumed that this will increase the effectiveness of testing and optimizing military plans and tactics. It became known that the main radio frequency center plans to start using artificial intelligence for the needs of the armed forces. Discuss Artificial intelligence for the military can be taught through games

This is reported by Kommersant, referring to a study by the center. The latter's document says that thanks to war games, combined with AI, the effectiveness of testing and optimizing military plans and tactics will increase.

The initiators of the project believe that the implemented system is capable of conducting confrontation according to the “man-machine” system, so that potential problems and weaknesses can be found.

The authors also suggested using trained neural networks in highly specialized military simulators.

“From the point of view of learning from computer games scenarios, it would be more correct to“ show ” algorithms for the actions of real players, and not another program. But in order to implement this project, it is necessary to translate the video recording of the game into a format that is understandable for the neural network, for example, text. It makes no sense to teach the program based on the actions of another decision-making program, ”said Andrey Proletarskiy, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Artificial Intelligence and Control Systems of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
