Ran had supported a project to build a lunar base, and discussed some of the details

Russia is going to build a manned lunar base. As reported by TASS, citing its sources, the Council of RAS on space supported the project. On Wednesday held a meeting with participation of the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin and President of RAS Alexander Sergeev, which also dealt with the General concept of the development and exploration of the moon. During the meeting the idea was proposed, built two observatories on the lunar surface.

One will be designed to study cosmic rays, the other is astronomy.

“At the Council of RAS on space today discussed the complex concept of a common program of research and exploration of the moon, from launch unmanned vehicles – “Luna-25”, “Luna-26”, “Luna-27″ — and ending with the manned program, as well as the deployment of stations on the moon, observatories. Was the decision to support this concept and continue work on it,” — said the source Agency.

As it became known, the exploration of the moon Russia is planned in several stages, starting with the launch of automatic stations. After the flyby of the satellite will be sent a crew of Russian cosmonauts, and then begin implementation of the plan for the deployment of the Russian lunar infrastructure in the satellite.

“Before that it was all in fragmented form, as now shown in the overall concept,” commented the source, adding that at the meeting of the Council of the RAS was not discussed exact date of the launch robotic spacecraft on the moon and manned missions to the satellite.

To finalize the Russian lunar program is planned for spring 2019. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the RAS Council on space, scientific Director of the space research Institute of RAS lion Green.

“A detailed economic justification of the lunar program was not total, elementary. And now will be a detailed economic justification. By March will not be the concept of the program and a great program, maybe this April will turn out,” commented Green.

It was previously reported that the crew of the Russian astronauts first landed on the moon after 2030. The duration of the mission is 14 days. According to the preliminary sketch of the roadmap to 2040, the development of the satellite will be conducted in three stages.

In the first (up to 2025) on Board the International space station will be testing all of the necessary technology. The planned establishment of the creation base module lunar station. Will be testing the manned spacecraft “Federation”. In addition, within the same phase would see an unmanned flyby of the moon a robotic version of “Federation” and study the moon’s surface automatic stations.

As a possible basis for the construction of a lunar orbital station discusses the elements of the Russian segment of the ISS. It is primarily a question about node module transport ship, as well as scientific-energy module, which are scheduled to deliver and dock with the International space station in 2022.

In the second stage (2025-2035 years) will be working out of means of access to the surface of the moon (in the future the lunar orbital station will be equipped with landing cargo and manned modules for landing on the surface), the first manned flights to the moon, creation and placement on the moon first elements of the future base.

The third phase covers the time after 2035. In this period expected completion of full visited the lunar base. After that it is planned to start creation of uniform system of manned and automatic means for further exploration of the moon.
