Huawei and Xiaomi taking over the market, while global smartphone sales fall

The research firm IDC and Strategy Analytics has summed up the results of the international smartphone market for the third quarter of 2018. Both noted the decrease in international sales by 6% and 8.4%. The exact numbers are different because companies use different methods in their research, although the General trends they show are the same.

Also, both companies see the decline or lack of growth of sales of three companies in the top five — Samsung, Apple and OPPO. The Chinese OPPO, occupying the fifth place, there has been a slight decline, Apple is in third place satisfied with a minimal increase, but the leader, Samsung, the fall of the prod is very noticeable by 13%.

Two Chinese companies Huawei and Xiaomi, the second and fourth substantially increased the sales volume by 32% and 21% (19%).

With all this, if you look at the sales units, the gap between first and second place is very large. Samsung sells much more smartphones than Huawei’s more than 20 million units.
