Samsung has introduced a 48-megapixel camera for the Galaxy S10

Samsung Electronics has introduced two new camera sensor for smartphones — 48-megapixel Isocell Bright GM1 and a 32-megapixel Isocell Bright GD1. The sensors are designed for multi cameras flagship smartphones.

Both have a pixel size of only 0.8 microns. This allowed the creation of compact sensors with high resolution. According to the manufacturer, the technology Isocell Plus provides good quality, despite the small size of the pixels.

If you select low resolution, 12 MP GM1 and 8 MP for GD1, you can create high-quality images in low lighting conditions, since the information from four pixels will be combined into one. Similar technology is used in Huawei P20 Pro, rated as the best cameraphone of the year.

It is also noted support HDR in real-time for GD1 and electronic image stabilization based on gyro.

Mass production of sensors Samsung Isocell Isocell Bright GM1 and GD1 Bright to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018, just in time for the launch of the flagship smartphone Samsung next generation.
