the Russians will use 5G by 2025.
Russia is expected to explosive growth of networks of the fifth generation after the launch of the first 5G network in 2020. This was reported in the published by the GSM Association (GSMA) report “Mobile economy: Russia and CIS 2018”.
The GSMA expects that Russia will become one of the Nations on the world stage, where the implementation of 5G will happen quickly. The first commercial networks of the fifth generation must earn in 2020 and one-fifth of mobile connections (48 million) will go to 5G by 2025. Also by 2025, 5G network will cover the area in which live 80% of Russians.
GSMA CEO mats Granryd said: “the Results of our study show that Russia will become the leader among CIS countries in terms of the spread of 5G networks, as mobile operators are actively investing in their development. New networks have the potential for the development of the digital economy and the digital transformation of industries. However, this would require a conducive regulatory framework, focused on the development of investment and innovation, in particular, ensure timely availability of frequency bands for operators at a reasonable price”.
