The head of Huawei said about a folding smartphone with a flexible display and 5G

Huawei is working on creating a foldable smartphone with a flexible display. This was told by Richard Yu (Richard Yu), head of the consumer division of Huawei, in an interview with journalists DigitalTrends during the international launch of the flagship smartphone Huawei Mate 20.

He confirmed that the device will be able to work in cellular networks of the fifth generation. The output of this smartphone is scheduled for June 2019.

Previously, Richard Yu has already talked about such plans. He told journalists German newspaper Die Welt: “are You still using the computer? Perhaps this is due to the fact that you think a smartphone screen is too small”. He added that the company intends to change this situation and it is likely that soon there will be folding screens.

In September, President of mobile units Samsung D. J. Koch (D. J. Koh) also announced the imminent release of the smartphone with a folding display. His initial announcement will take place at the Samsung developer conference in San Francisco.
