The organization IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, international Federation of producers of phonograms and videograms) published a report on the musical content. According to its statistics, despite the rise in popularity of legal streaming services like Spotify and the Apple Music, 38% of consumers of music “mined” of its illegal ways.

Most of the violations occur within the scope of “capturing” music streaming — 35%. To capture audio from sites like YouTube is now easily accessible. 23% are torrent trackers like BitTorrent and 17% use regular search engines to find pirated content.

Streaming services are used by 86% of students, 50% use them only when there is no choice. 75% listen to music on smartphones.
