The Chinese have created a processor-level Intel Core i5

The Chinese company Zhaoxin presented processor KX-6000 on x86 architecture, designed to compete with products from Intel and AMD.

According to the manufacturer, the new CPU designed for desktops, laptops and servers, and is able to provide performance comparable to Intel Core i5 seventh generation without the support of Hyper-threading.

Note that Zhaoxin is a joint venture of the Chinese government and the company Via Technologies. Processor KX-6000 is made on 16-nanometer technology FinFET. It contains four or eight cores with a frequency up to 3 GHz, 8 MB second level cache and supports dual-channel memory DDR4-3200.

For comparison, last Zhaoxin product, processor KX-5000, was 28-nanometer, Quad-core and has a frequency up to 2 GHz. The timing of the release and estimated price KX-6000 yet to be announced.
