Android celebrated its 10-year anniversary and stands at 88% of all smartphones

The world’s most popular mobile operating system celebrated its tenth anniversary. Ten years ago, September 23, 2008, was presented the first smartphone T-Mobile G1 based on Android. Its manufacturer was the company HTC, the smartphone was based on Android version 1.1.

A little later after the release in the U.S. operator T-Mobile model was released called the HTC Dream in other parts of the world.

Android took some time to achieve leadership positions. By the end of 2010, the platform has managed to overtake its competitors, Apple’s iOS and the Symbian OS from Nokia.

At the end of the second quarter, Android was installed on 88% sold to final users during this period smartphones.
