The vast majority of Russians, 73% supported the idea to ban the use of smartphones and other gadgets during school hours. This was reported in the results of a survey conducted by the Russian centre for public opinion studies.

83% of respondents believe that personal phones and smartphones hinder the students to learn. Three quarters of respondents (73%) support the idea of banning the use of smartphones and other gadgets during class. According to 69% of the interviewed children will learn better through such restrictions the use of electronic gadgets in schools.

This proposal is supported as parents of students (73%) and those who do not have school-age children (74%). More often for the support limiting the use of gadgets in the classroom spoke those parents, whose children don’t own a cell phone (81%). With 17% of respondents believe that no changes from the adoption of such measures will not happen.

The survey was conducted by VTSIOM on 7 September 2018, among 1,600 respondents over 18 years in Russia.
