OnePlus will abandon the 3.5 mm audio Jack

In the next OnePlus smartphone will not be a 3.5 mm headphone Jack. This told Carl Pei (Carl Pei ), co-founder of OnePlus, in an interview to the resource TechRadar.

About the removal of the audio Jack, he said: “It was a very controversial decision. We don’t do it just for the sake of something to do or because everyone is doing it. We are confident that now is the right time for this as it will benefit most of our users”.

Carl Pei noted that 59% of users of OnePlus have already switched to wireless headphones. The benefits of removing the audio connector is simple — the space for other components. Carl Pei mentioned improved work time and “other new technologies”. Under the latter, most likely, means the thumbprint scanner that is integrated directly into the screen.
