Russian search engine Yandex surpassed Google for the first time on mobile devices with Android operating system. This is evidenced by statistics of the analytical Yandex.Radar.
It is, of course on the Russian segment of the market. In the week from 13 to 19 August from the total number of requests, the share of Yandex reached 49,35%, while the share of Google accounted 49,28%.
This is a turning point for Yandex, which beat Google on its own territory. Previously Google search was dominated by smartphones and tablets.
Experts note that such a surge in popularity of Endesa contributed to the launch of the voice assistant Alice, but also the decision of the FAS that forced Google to withdraw the proposals with alternatives in the mobile Chrome browser. In the summer of 2016 the share of Yandex and Google was 38,2% and 60.1%, respectively, and in August 2017 — 42,7% and 56%.
