Google has updated its statistics on the prevalence of various versions of the Android operating system on the official site for Android developers Developers. Figures for the week ended 31 August 2018.
The latest 9.0 version of the Android Pie while in the rating were not included because the statistics do not count Google OS with a share less than 0.1%. The second fresh Android 8 Oreo now holds a 14.6%, 2.5% more of the results in July.
Version Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread, which debuted in December 2010 and in October 2011, received 0.3% and 0.3%, respectively. Jelly Bean, released in July 2012 was 3.5% down 0.1%. In April Android 8 Oreo for the first time overtook her and took fifth place. Now fifth place is KitKat with 8.6%.
Share pozaproshlogodnie Android 7 Nougat stopped growing for the second month and stabilized at the level of 30.8 per cent. The share of Android 7.1 Nougat is 10.5% and net Android 7.0 Nougat is 20.3%.
In February, Nougat Marshmallow for the first time has overtaken and has become the most popular version of Android. Version Marshmallow held the lead since the summer of 2017. Now it takes the second place and a share of 22.7 a decrease of 0.8%. Lollipop is ranked third, its share fell from 20.4% to 19.2%.
Recall that the stable version Android 9 Pie (Pie) was introduced by Google in August 6. It brings quite a lot of innovations involving artificial intelligence, as well as “native” support for displays with cut-outs in the style of the iPhone X.
