Russia may launch a mobile application that will replace a driver’s license, proof of vehicle registration and insurance. All these documents will be in electronic form provided in the app. This was told Kommersant.
First Deputy chief of traffic police Vladimir Shvetsov, said: “Many people now pay for purchases by phone. We want to give opportunity to consumer to desire could “lay” in the phone of a driver’s license, STS, and insurance.”
Shvetsov noted that currently many of the inspectors of traffic police already have a tablet. With the launch of the application, “the driver will be able to come, put your phone to the reader, the inspector, the device will appear need to know.” Among the information available the inspector will not only the driver and vehicle, but also the violation with information about the accident. In this case, the processing time can be reduced to five minutes.
