NVIDIA introduced the GeForce series of RTX. It includes first gaming accelerator based on a new architecture NVIDIA Turing and NVIDIA RTX platform, unifying next-gen shaders ray-traced in real time and new capabilities of artificial intelligence.
As promised, a new hybrid graph shows the biggest leap between generations in the history of the gaming GPU. The Turing architecture that provides a sixfold increase in performance compared to the predecessor of Pascal.
According to NVIDIA, the architecture is Turing became the biggest breakthrough since the invention of the GPU CUDA in 2006. The architecture provides a dedicated processor for ray tracing, called RT-nucleus. They speed up calculations of the motion of light and sound in a 3D environment GigaRays to 10 per second. As noted by NVIDIA, Turing accelerates ray tracing by up to 25 times compared to the previous generation Pascal.
Graphics card got memory GDDR6 bandwidth in excess of 600 GB/s. Provides hardware support for USB Type-C and VirtualLink, a new open standard that meets the demands of VR-helmets with built-in USB Type-C.
The GeForce RTX, including NVIDIA Founders Edition will be available at a price of 499 U.S. dollars (US without tax). GeForce Ti RTX and RTX 2080 2080 will go on sale from September 20, GeForce RTX 2070 will be available in October.
