MTS launched a first terminal for issuing SIM cards with personal identification

Operator MTS announced the launch of the first terminal for issuing SIM cards with the technology of recognition of the individual. It is set in the city Innopolis in Tatarstan.

Until the end of 2018 it is planned to install about 100 devices new sample in dozens of Russian cities on the territory of railway stations, airports, hotels, and shopping centers.

The terminal is for issuance of SIM-cards MTS new subscribers. The device is equipped with technologies for the processing of personal and biometric data as well as special software that provides data protection against external and internal network attacks during transmission via communication channels.

To obtain a SIM card, the user needs to scan three pages of a passport, to confirm the correctness of the recognized data to be photographed, the device checks the passport photograph with the face of the user in automatic mode. After user authentication device issues a SIM card. As promised, the operator, the processing time takes a few minutes.

To get a SIM card any person over the age of 18 with a passport of the Russian Federation. In the future the device will be able to issue SIM cards to foreign nationals, the terminal interface will be translated into several languages.

MTS is not the first year develops an automatic system for selling SIM cards. The first version terminals for issuing SIM cards MTS appeared in 2016. Terminals are allowed to issue only additional SIM card to current subscribers. At the moment there are over 30 such devices work in Moscow, the Moscow and Kaluga regions, as well as in the far East.
