The team of developers of Google Maps (Google Maps) announced new capabilities for the desktop version. Google Maps now mode 3D globe.
If hard scale, eventually Google Maps will display the Earth, not in the form of a map and a globe. This was reported in Twitter account Google Maps. The developers also noted that in 3D globe projection Greenland is no longer looks the size of Africa. The display looks like on Google Earth (Google Earth) and now fans of “spin the globe” can be limited to Google Maps.
The update is available for desktop web interface of Google Maps and works in most browsers including Chrome, Firefox and Edge. It is unclear when the 3D globe will appear in mobile applications.
