4 August 1954 maiden flight of the British supersonic aircraft P. 1. To develop this apparatus the English Electric company began in 1947 (the year of the first supersonic flight). The goal was to create an experimental aircraft to explore supersonic speeds. However, at that time all the engineers of the company was loaded with work on the bomber, the Canberra and the P. 1 was postponed. The project resumed only in 1949, and modified in the direction of create a fighter-interceptor. In 1954, test pilot of English Electric company first took the prototype into the air. In the first flight the aircraft reached an altitude of 4572 meters and a speed of 724 km/h. the Pilot was satisfied with the apparatus and in the third-flight for the first time exceeded the speed of sound, and without the afterburner. The second prototype flew a year later, it already has installed a pair of 30-mm guns in the bow and the fuel tank is 250 gallons.

August 4, 2007 in the cosmos running machine Phoenix. This lander NASA was created to explore Mars. It was the first vehicle made under the program of Mars Scout and worked on the red planet almost a year. Phoenix was the sixth apparatus, which has successfully sat on Mars, but the first who was able to land in the polar region. The main purpose of the Phoenix project was the study of the Arctic region of Mars. The probe was supposed to help to answer three important questions: is it possible to live in the polar regions of the planet, melts ice there, and as changing weather conditions in the landing area. However, the most important task was the search for water. 18 Jun 2008 probe found ice, which then melted and August 1 in the course of research it became clear that the ice was water. Thus, Phoenix became one more step on the way to fly humans to Mars. Alas, the winter weather conditions deteriorated and the battery is dead. 2 Nov 2008 scientists have received the last signal from the Phoenix, and 10 November, the mission was completed.

4 Aug 2014 in the Crimea earned first Russian cellular communication. The operator was the company K-Telecom, a network which is located on the former frequencies of MTS-Ukraine. At launch, the network had 1.5 thousand base stations. Infrastructure on the Peninsula was created over several months, and the bulk sale of SIM cards with Russian prefix “+7” was launched back in June 2014. The coverage of networks of the third and fourth generation appears in the Crimea spot. The first segment 3G earned 13 August 2014 at the youth forum, and then in the airport “Simferopol”. And in Kerch and port Krym earned 3G and LTE, which had to upgrade 36 of the base stations. Difficulties with the operational implementation of new generation networks arise from the complex topography of the Peninsula.
