The company Corning introduced a new generation of Gorilla Glass. Protective glass Gorilla glass 6 replaces debuted in 2016 Gorilla Glass 5.
According to the manufacturer, the Gorilla Glass can withstand 6 to 15 consecutive falls from a height of one meter onto a hard surface and it is two times better than Gorilla Glass 5. As stressed by Corning, under similar test conditions, competitive glass compositions do not withstand a fall. In addition, the new glass can withstand a fall from a greater height, than its predecessor.
This glass can be used as protection for the display and rear panel of the smartphone. Now Gorilla Glass 6 tested partners of the manufacturer and should appear in the new smartphones in the next few months.
