The new MacBook is almost completely non-repairable

Specialists iFixit opened new 13-inch model of the MacBook Pro, introduced by Apple last week. As it turned out, the laptop is very inconvenient to disassembly and repair. In the ranking of maintainability, he scored just one point out of a possible ten.

The only advantage of that is noted in iFixit was able to remove the trackpad without removing the battery. The disadvantages were far more numerous and serious.

Processor, RAM and flash memory are all soldered to the motherboard. This makes repair and upgrade almost unreal. Case, keyboard, battery, and speakers are all glued together, making it nearly impossible to separate replacement. The Touch ID sensor also serves as a power button, paired with Apple chip T2 on the motherboard. Fix power button may require assistance from Apple or replace the motherboard.
