Russian users are concerned that mobile applications can keep track of them. This was reported by “Kaspersky Lab” the results of the study.
For example, 62% of respondents feel uncomfortable to share their location with web sites and applications, which is significantly higher than the figure for 2016 – 47%.
In addition, 59% of Russian Internet users fear that someone may be aware of all their actions on the devices. Almost half of respondents (49%) worry that anyone can follow them, using geolocation data from their gadgets.
According to experts, these concerns are justified, because the application can not only have access to a huge amount of data, but also to run in the background without the knowledge of device owners.
58% of users admitted that they do not check the permissions of pre-installed mobile applications on devices based on Android and iOS. At the same time, only 28% of respondents do not check permissions when downloading or installing new applications on your mobile gadgets.
