Fitness app leaked the names and addresses of workers of the secret facilities

Fitness Polar Flow app from the Finnish company Polar has unveiled the personal data of more than 6 400 users at military facilities and intelligence services. This is stated in joint publications Bellingcat investigation and De Correspondent.

Journalists were able to obtain data on names, addresses and activity of military and intelligence officials using “holes” in the security settings of the application, without any special tools or skills.

It took only use the map to Explore the app and find which users have to close, as the White house, the national security Agency, MI-6 in London, and even almost fifty storage locations of nuclear weapons.

Polar Flow web service keeps track of GPS data from Polar devices, such as watches, fitness bracelets, chairs and even the scales.
