AI-the copywriter has started to work in China

A lot of stories about the future, paint a picture of a world in which artificial intelligence and robotic equipment take the jobs. And similar, though on a small scale, is already happening. For example, the largest player in the Chinese market Alibaba Group has developed an artificial intelligence that can perform the functions of copywriters.

AI was created by specialists of the company Alimama, Alibaba Group. The algorithm uses the technology of deep machine learning and computer algorithms language processing that allows it to generate text descriptions of products for various Internet sites and trading companies. For today the trade network, though use a number of apps for writing such kind of text, the outcome is far from ideal and “human” text is always easy to distinguish from “native” to mean unnatural of phrasing the latter. In recognition of the developers, their system is devoid of such shortcomings:

“Our algorithm was trained on millions of examples of existing qualitative descriptions and can play up to twenty thousand lines of text per second. This program is already being used on us owned platforms, Tmall and Taobao. Brand owners or advertisers only give a link to the product, and then the AI offers a variety of text and descriptions. The user can choose the length and style of the text.”

The experts claim that marketers and copywriters their seats will not lose, because the AI only steer people in the right direction, and the final text they modify on their own. However, nobody forbids to use only “native” option. So the question of competition for AI and humans in this area and remains open.
