“Spring law” came into force on 1 July 2018, but the operators while there is no legal possibility to store users ‘ communications. About it reported the edition “Kommersant” with reference to the representatives of Rossvyaz, and mobile operators.
Recall the “Spring law” requires operators to store user traffic for 30 days, including all telephone conversations, text messages, images, sounds, videos, and other electronic messages of users, and at the request of the FSB to provide the keys to encrypted traffic. Within five years, operators must annually increase the storage capacity by 15%.
At the moment in Russia there is no necessary certified equipment for storage. The Ministry of communications has warned operators about the liability of non-certified drives. Accreditation of certification bodies and testing laboratories according to the plans will be completed only in the third or fourth quarter of the year.
As noted in the Ministry of communications, to produce the desired storage only seven companies “NORSI-TRANS”, “Citadel”, “Teargas Decreased”, “Special technologies” (renamed “Orion”), “MFI Soft”, “Signatek” and “Base lab”. But this equipment must be certified.
