Microsoft is working on a mysterious device Surface under the code name Andromeda for at least two years. Now the Verge has managed to get access to internal Microsoft documentation, and find out new details.
As expected, Microsoft Andromeda should be a foldable tablet that can turn into a more compact device. According to The Verge, it will be a “pocket” gadget Surface.
According to the description of the documents, Andromeda will introduce a new “explosive” device category, which will affect all future line Surface and smooth out the border between PC and mobile.
At the moment Andromeda is still under development. It is noted that the design and the flexible display does not provide for gaps in the fully unfolded state. The illustrations show only a concept, created by designer David Breuer (David Breyer) on the basis of the last company’s patents, but the authors of The Verge confirmed that the current engineering samples of the device should look like.
Microsoft plans to introduce Andromeda before the end of 2018, and then may appear the same gadgets from the manufacturers.
