Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that introduces fines for the search engines for the links to prohibited sites and services to bypass locks.
The law amends the code of administrative offences (Code on administrative offences) and already published on the official portal of legal information and the website of the President of Russia. Federal law shall enter into force 90 days after the date of its official publication.
The law provides for penalties of 3 to 5 thousand rubles for individuals, from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles for officials and from 500 thousand to 700 thousand rubles for legal entities for the issuance of a search engine, links to prohibited sites listed in the register of Roskomnadzor, and means to bypass locks.
Also expect fines of hosting providers that are on time not provided on request of Roskomnadzor data on owners of anonymizers and VPN services. They will make 10-30 thousand rubles for individuals and from 50 thousand to 300 thousand rubles for legal entities.
