Apple and Samsung have reconciled after 7 years in court

Samsung and Apple to settle their patent dispute, which lasted seven years, since 2011. In the District court of California companies sent a reconciliation agreement.

Thus, Samsung and Apple have privately resolved their differences and closed all litigation claims. The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the company has not yet made an official comment.

Recall that the whole argument is conducted against such devices as the iPhone 3GS, the original iPad, the early models of the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. Apple accuses Samsung of too close copying of the appearance and packaging of their revolutionary gadgets, as well as the imitation in the behavior of the software, like the gesture “pull to refresh”.

In may 2018, the jury decided that Samsung should pay Apple $ 539 million. Note that in 2012, Apple won a case against Samsung and the jury decided that Apple suffered damages in the amount of slightly more than one billion U.S. dollars. The amount seems huge, if you do not remember that Apple required more than two times more. Samsung then agreed to pay 548 million, but the verdict was overturned by the Supreme court. As a result, the litigation continued. At that time, Samsung had already paid 399 million of the entire amount owed to Apple.
