Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for laptops will be faster and more efficient than Intel Celeron

In the Internet appeared fresh information about the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 processor, designed for Windows-based computers 10. Details shared profile German resource WinFuture, proven by past leaks.

According to a source, the Snapdragon 1000 codenamed Project Poipu will provide greater performance than the Intel Atom and Celeron, but it will be more economical. Its power consumption will be about 12 Watts, while the series of Intel chipsets U used in ultrabooks, the TDP is 15 watts. Thus, Qualcomm Snapdragon 1000 will be used in thin laptops and compact form factor.

Flagship Snapdragon processor 845 and the recently introduced Snapdragon 850, which is the first Qualcomm processor, specially designed for Windows-based computers have dimensions of 12.4 x 12.4 mm. Dimensions of the upcoming Snapdragon 1000 should be 20 x 15 mm. as a result, the Snapdragon 1000 will be higher than current flagships for the company, but less than 15-watt Intel chips.

It is also noted that the Snapdragon 1000 will be a socket, that is, the chip will not solder to the motherboard and, theoretically, it can be replaced.

According to earlier leaks, the chip will get a productive core Cortex A76 and cost-effective Cortex A55, RAM LPDDR4X of 16 GB and a couple of drives UFS 2.1 128 GB, as well as Gigabit WLAN module power management.
