Mi Pad 4 will be the first Xiaomi tablet with face recognition

Company Xiaomi has shared new details about its forthcoming tablet, the Mi Pad 4. This time she posted on his Weibo account, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, a promotional teaser regarding authentication methods.

According to the teaser, the tablet will not get fingerprint scanner, but instead will use the recognition of the user’s face. The device uses a system based on artificial intelligence for scanning, recognition and unlock. It is unclear whether provided by the infrared camera to function in poor lighting conditions.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 will be the successor of the tablet Mi Pad 3, which Xiaomi introduced in April last year. According to rumors it will get an 8-inch display with Full HD resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9, the cameras on 13 and 5 MP, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 660, 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal flash memory, and battery 6,000 mAh. The tablet runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with the shell MIUI. The expected price for the version with Wi-Fi and 4+64GB is 230$, and LTE 6+128 GB — 308$.

Xiaomi has already sent out invitations to journalists at a press event on 25 June 2018, which will be presented a new smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro and tablet Mi Pad 4.
