Apple has considered the possibility to deny iPhone X wired version of the charging switching entirely to wireless. This told Bloomberg.
The author notes in Bloomberg said that we are talking about the complete elimination of X in the iPhone Lightning port. Moreover, the company’s engineers hope eventually to completely get rid of all external ports and buttons on the iPhone, even though the implementation may take many years.
However, the plans on getting rid of Lightning had to be postponed because wireless charging is still noticeably slower than traditional methods. Furthermore, the inclusion of the wireless charger in the package would significantly raise the cost of the smartphone.
