Customs proposes to introduce a fee for all foreign online purchases

The Federal customs service has proposed the Finance Ministry to introduce a duty on all purchases of any value in the foreign Internet-stores. This was reported by the newspaper Vedomosti, citing two Federal officials.

At the moment in Russia without duties to receive orders from foreign online stores worth not more than 1000 euros a month and weighing less than 31 kg. in excess of the limit fee will be 30%, but not less than 4 euros per kg. According to the agreement in the framework of the EAEU (Eurasian economic Union) the maximum value of the duty-free parcels is to be reduced to 500 euros from 2019 and up to 200 euros in 2020.

The new proposal provides for the TCF tariff reduction from 30% to 20%, but it will be paid on all orders from foreign online stores. Is considered as a combination rate, for example, not less than 1 euros for 1 kg, and a fee of 20% on commercial goods cheaper than 200 euros. It is proposed to apply to personal packages requirement as to commercial shipments. Such a system is proposed to introduce from 2020.
