KamAZ showed the first unmanned buses with communication 5G

KamAZ jointly with the operator MegaFon demonstrated in Kazan the first prototypes of unmanned air buses. Drone under the name KAMAZ-1221 SHUTTLE (Widely Adaptive Transport logistics) rode along the Bank of the Kazanka river. The first passenger to try out a new vehicle, became President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The demonstration was conducted inside the fenced perimeter of a closed area. The length of a special path on a sandy embankment along the Kazanka river was 650 meters. The speed of the vehicle when the demonstration reached 10 km/h.

As planned, the drone provides a stop for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers in places, certain service of the motion and the selecting users from the list on the route. The interface allows the passenger to control the door system, the election system, the spot for landing, request stop, emergency stop, emergency call, hand opening doors. You can also use the USB port for charging electronic devices.

Pilot area networks of the fifth generation of the Megaphone acted as a platform to provide mobile telecommunication buses. According to the operator, data from the bus through the mobile network 5G is transmitted to the control station, controlling the motion of the vehicle at a speed of 1.2 Gbps stable with a minimum delay of 6-8 MS.

Note that the pilot zone will be in effect for all matches of the world Cup in Kazan — on the road from the fan zone to the stadium “Kazan arena”.
