Sony intends to abandon the proprietary shell Xperia Home in new smartphones — this was reported by representatives of the company to the official Google+ page. According to them, today shell goes into a “phase maintenance” and no longer receive any updates except those which will maintain it in healthy condition.

The company did not specify whether this means that all future Sony smartphones will use Android, or that we are developing a brand new shell from scratch.
