Samsung 2016 release was in third place worldwide sales for the first quarter of 2018. This is stated in the report of the analytical company IHS Markit for international shipments of smartphones.
First and second places were taken by iPhone X and iPhone 8 with 12.7 and 8.5 million, respectively. In third with 8.3 million settled just the same Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus two years ago. Fourth and fifth places went to Plus iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus 8 and 7.4 million, respectively.
Galaxy Grand Prime Plus
Note that the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus, released in November 2016, applies to entry-level smartphones, while the remaining five of the most popular smartphones are high — end and expensive models. Interestingly, last year in the same quarter of the Grand Galaxy Prime Plus also took third place, behind only the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and with the whole of 2017, so in General was the second in sales.
