Probably because each of us while watching the movie was the situation when the character on the screen does blatant stupidity, and we think, “Well, why? It would be better to do so-and-so”. Now imagine that the hero really takes the decision about which you think. Fiction? Not at all, because this summer, the first film titled the Moment, the plot of which will influence the viewer. And he will do so with the help of brain impulses.
The Moment is a short science fiction film duration 27 minutes, which takes place in the near future where neural interfaces is widespread. They not only give you quick access to information, but also carry out surveillance and monitoring of people’s thoughts. More about the plot is not known anything, as everything ties will control the audience. The rhythm of narration, music and even the installation – everything can be changed, just think about what you would like.
To implement the technology Director Richard Ramchurn used a regular helmet for registration of brain activity similar to devices for removing the electroencephalogram (EEG). The cost of the device does not exceed $ 100. Already passed the first test screening of the film, and if the viewing audience was bored, the music in the film was varied, and the action switched to the storyline associated with the main hero and the main intrigue. Moreover, depending on the viewer (and in this case we are talking about the same audience as a large number of people can not simultaneously watch the motion picture) changed the scene, their order and the transitions between them, and the key events occurred in different times of history.
Of course, a full branching storyline with different versions of events does not occur, as this would require much more timing and amount of captured scenes. Even for the 27-minute film was filmed in the order of 101 trillion different events and their variations. In any case, this is a very interesting technology, if successful, which is even scary to imagine how much can change familiar to us film industry.
