Google has created a truly creepy movie that could easily appear on Netflix in the show “Black mirror”. It tells the story of a future in which it would be possible to change our user data in order to affect human behavior.
The video was posted by The Verge. Its Creator is Nick foster, head of design at the Department of research and development Google X. This work dates from the year 2016.
Based on the theory of evolution and referring to the book of Richard Dawkins ‘ 1976 the Selfish gene, foster suggested to think about a constantly evolving library of online records about a person, which he called “the Selfish book.” According to him, in future, all these data can be used not only to predict our behavior, but also for guiding him to the desired result.
Western colleagues have already contacted Google and asked to comment on the video. The company said that the video was designed to be provocative and has nothing to do with Google projects that are currently in development.
We understand that this is disturbing – it must be so. It was a thought experiment, the team collected a few years ago, which uses a technique known as “speculative design” to explore uncomfortable ideas and concepts and attempts to provoke discussion and debate. All this is not linked to any current or future products.
