What to do with old batteries from electric cars? Many developers coming up with their own versions, but it seems that the specialists from Nissan found the most elegant solution. Old batteries from electric cars Leaf can be re-used in lampposts — that they will equip their obsolete batteries of electric vehicles. A small solar panel helps the battery to accumulate electricity during the daylight and in the evening when the roads will become dark, the battery can long enough to feed energy led bulb, which is equipped with lampposts.
“The Light is Reborn” (reborn) — so romantic in the Nissan called program reusing the batteries. Equipped with powered lamps have already started to test in the Japanese city of Us, almost completely abandoned after the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Later this year we plan to illuminate the city with the help of “reborn” lamps.
Nissan has already studied the possibility to use the old batteries in a similar way, creating a similar to those made by an American company Tesla, energy storage, but the idea of “The Light Reborn” is the fact that the lamps do not have to connect in a single chain — they may be able to work independently from each other.
