Developers from the University of California have created a “4D glasses” that allow objects from the movies to touch the audience while watching. In order to enhance the effect of presence, points begin to literally “touch” the user by adding additional feelings in the viewer when, for example, appears on the screen moving on the viewer object.
Neuroscientists involved in the development, was engaged in studying of various areas of the brain responsible for vision and response to touch. These glasses were created to deceive the brain and should help scientists working on the study of brain mechanisms. However, the developers believe that their glasses will be useful in much more ordinary situations, so be sure glasses will be a great addition when watching movies, gaming, augmented, virtual reality and other entertainment.
When the object starts to “get closer” to person, he feels the air flow created by small generators built into the headset. When this mechanism is triggered at certain times — perfect presence effect is achieved in the interval between 800 and 1000 MS.
Yet points look rather unpresentable, but that is normal for an early prototype. However, with the problem they are coping well. It is unknown whether there will be they ever on sale, after all, to make this design tubes, couplers and lenses full-fledged gaming gadget, it will have to work as it should.
