Named list of the worst passwords of 2017

The company SplashData, specializing in providing information security services, annually makes the list of most popular passwords, based on millions of stolen logins, which end up in open access. And every year we never cease to be surprised by human stupidity.

You’ve probably already guessed what the two passwords are the most unreliable, but nevertheless the most used. This, of course, is “123456” and “password”. In this year’s list also fell and new passwords, and returned to those who were absent from the top 25 of the worst, including “starwars”, “monkey”, “iloveyou”, “whatever” and “freedom”. The most recent, perhaps, be called “letmein” and the ironic “trustno1”.

“Unfortunately, despite the fact that the latest episode can be a wonderful addition to the Saga “Star wars”, password is “starwars” extremely unreliable to use,” commented CEO of SplashData Morgan Slane in a press release.

“Hackers often turn to terminology used in pop culture and sports for the selection of the right password to a stranger on academic records as well understand that a lot of people use these words just because they are easy to remember.”

For the seventh time SplashData expresses concern about the total unconcern of the people and urged all to take seriously the issue of security in the Network. Using very weak passwords, we actually invite intruders to make use of their private property, open access to email confidential information to social media pages and other academic records. It was so bad that even novice hackers can easily find the right key to your information.

As a precaution SplashData recommends creating complex passwords of letters, numbers and extra characters (pound sign, underscore and so on), and use different passwords for different accounts. In addition, many services offer two-factor authentication (for logon you need to enter the code from the SMS) — it needs to be connected necessarily, experts warn. For those who find it difficult to remember long passwords, there are many convenient password managers that can not only store all your passwords in one place, but also to generate truly safe.
