Tesla received from PepsiCo, the order for 100 electric trucks

New electric Tesla truck gradually continues to attract new customers. The car is still not released, but the big retailers they are already interested in and make small but very significant requests for its purchase. More recently, the American beer company Anheuser-Busch made the largest order of 40 electric trucks Semi Truck. However, today their contribution to the environmental future decided to do a PepsiCo – manufacturing giant, soft drinks and various snacks made from 100 electric trucks.

As noted in the company, the operation of such vehicles can offer two benefits: environmental and economic. In the first case, it will be possible to reduce the emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, and the second — to save on fuel costs and maintenance.

The initial cost of the Tesla Semi reserve amounted to $ 5,000. Now, a prepayment in the amount of $ 20,000. In other words, from this transaction the Bank account of Tesla has added $ 2 million. If all ordered PepsiCo truck will be paid in full (at the price of $ 150,000), it will bring the company $ 15 million.

The Agency “Reuters” revealed that the Tesla electric tractors will be used mainly on short routes.

“PepsiCo intends to use the Tesla Semi trucks to transport goods and drinks between production and distribution companies, as well as for delivery of goods to the departments of retailers within a radius of 800 kilometres from the city centre. Recall that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has promised that such a reserve of their electrogrooving”.

“Tesla Semi will be part of the American car fleet PepsiCo, numbering nearly 10,000 pieces of equipment as part of the program aimed at reducing emissions of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. By 2030, emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, created by the transport chains, the company is to be reduced by at least 20 percent”, — commented on the purchase of trucks Tesla the head of the supply division of PepsiCo Mike O’connell.

Currently, PepsiCo is conducting an analysis of the most optimal routes for new trucks and Tesla is considering as the most likely shipping different types of goods within the production chain, added O’connell.

Just a day after the announcement of a large American retail chain Walmart announced the pre-order 15 trucks, and later they were joined by companies such as JB Hunt Transport Services, Ryder, DHL, as well as the canadian supermarket chain Loblaw, too, have issued orders on several machines.
