In the framework of Russian-European space mission ExoMars, scheduled for the next 3-5 years, it’s been a lot of tests in preparation for scale flight. And perhaps one of the most important experiments was a few days ago. In the Assembly shop NPO Lavochkin experienced a landing module for landing on Mars.
As reports a press-service of NPO Lavochkin, the first phase has been tested the build quality of the module, checked the installation of the scientific equipment units, piping the propulsion system and checking elements on the subject of integrity. In the series of tests planned 4 phases to test design decisions and, if necessary, will be amended. Will need to check the manufacturability of the product, the docking units and other component parts of the module.
Russian Martian landing platform will be installed scientific equipment for the study of the environment, soil and structure of the red planet. Research will begin immediately after the delivery of the platform and the Rover on the surface of Mars.
According to the project plan, the final fabrication of the module and elements as well as the construction of the Rover to take place by 2021. Up to this point will be conducted as a series of test spacecraft and equipment for the study of the fourth planet from the Sun.
