New flu vaccination gives lifelong immunity to the virus

Annual epidemics of influenza virus able to bring down the health of a great number of people. To ease the disease or not get sick at all, there are vaccinations. But they need to do every year. And scientists from the US seem to be able to create a vaccine that is able to protect from the threat of the virus for life.

On opening the newspaper writes Science Daily. American scientists from the Center for Virology University of Nebraska created a vaccine, which includes 4 main strain of the virus. The report also mentioned that multivoltine tested on mice that are not infected with the flu even when exposed to lethal doses of the virus. The rodents who were given regular vaccinations sick.

To create a vaccine that would be effective for a long time, have tried before, but it presents some difficulties. As raw materials for vaccine production are typically used weakened or dead viruses. They, when introduced into the blood do not cause the disease but stimulate the immune system, and when you get a live virus, our body will be already prepared. American scientists instead of dead viruses used defective adenoviruses. They were modified to carry and deliver the body to the antigens of strains of influenza viruses H1, H2, H3 and H5. As stated by the author of the study associate Professor, University of Nebraska Eric weaver,

“Our idea is that these antigens could form the basis of immunity against influenza. Since they are all strains equally, it can provide a basis for immunity against all known flu viruses. Too early to say that the new universal vaccine will work, but it has all the chances. Our goal is to create a vaccine that will be entered once and will provide lifelong protection.”
