HydroCamel II: the first Autonomous robotic submarine from Israel

An increasing number of countries “hires” a team of robots. These countries now include Israel, the designers who recently declared that the territorial waters of the state will now be protected Autonomous robotic submarine HydroCamel II. She, according to the experts, can do a number of things to which not able other similar devices.

HydroCamel II is quite a conventional submarine with a length of 2.4 meters. On Board it carries a number of sonar systems, cameras with different modes of observation as well as a number of manipulators to perform various tasks. The “brain” HydroCamel II is a robotic system based on neural network. The submarine can be used not only in security and intelligence purposes, but also conduct missions on the study of the seabed and its inhabitants, and applied by geologists to identify locations where minerals. As told by one of the authors of the project, Professor Hugo Guterman,

“HydroCamel II includes in its design a lot of modern innovative technologies, for example, high-level system of maneuvering and the ability to dive in a vertical position. Previously, such functions were limited by the fact that such devices can operate only with a remote control, being associated with the vessel or by land using the cable that carries energy and information”.

Now the production HydroCamel II deals with a company called BG Robotics. And according to available information, the cost of a new underwater robot is not inferior to the existing analogues, and armed submarine will arrive in the near future.
