Presented robot cat to teach children

Robotic systems are not just for the military or intelligence missions, but also for more peaceful purposes. For example, for training. In order to interest the younger audience and attract interest in programming and robotics, was recently presented robot cat that can teach children.

The cat robot going was presented at the world festival of youth and students (WFMS), which is being held in Sochi. The robot is equipped with a large number of sensors, each of which can be programmed by the young user. The robot carries sensors, motion, and mechanical elements providing movement of the individual parts of the robot.

To create the commands for the robot can be in any of the existing programming languages or by using special programs to simplify the interaction for those who are not familiar with programming. As explained in an interview with TASS one of the authors of the project Maxim mosal,

“This robot is the first Belarusian development, created to assist children in learning subjects such as computer science, mathematics, music and biology. It is designed for children from 8 to 14 years. On his head he carries a variety of sensors responsible for the interaction. For example, a light sensor installed on the top, and the child can write a program that, if, say, Pat the cat, he starts to blink his eyes. We develop together with teachers in Belarus a full-fledged course to the robot, it was possible to implement in educational institutions.”
