According to “Digital economy”, approved by the government in July, all Russian cyber-physical systems consisting of hardware and software should be running domestic software. The publication “Kommersant”, referring to the available document, reports that the development of the OS, which will operate the devices of the Internet of things must be completed before December 31, 2021.
The document developed by the working group, headed by Sberbank and responsible for implementing programs assigned to the Ministry of industry and trade, the Ministry of communications, as well as a number of Russian equipment manufacturers and software developers.
By the end of 2018, the performers were obliged to provide the Commission with the working prototypes of the OS, and a year later, in the fourth quarter of 2019, should be ready the standards for machine-to-machine interaction, cyber-physical systems. Russian software for the Internet of things will help to ensure the safety of automatic control systems in various fields, ranging from control systems of production processes and ending with an Autonomous system of electric vehicle. Just this month plans to establish a national consortium for development of the Autonomous electric transport, which will include KAMAZ, FGUP US, “Sollers”, “Rostelecom” and many others. Having such developments, these and other businesses and companies will be able at the proper level to provide security and automation of its systems.
Domestic development, as well as several other operating systems designed for IoT are likely to be based on Linux — therefore, to create it for the designated time period is quite real.
