Yesterday the Russian company Yandex has officially unveiled the world she created voice assistant named Alice, which quite harmoniously into a number of existing voice assistants such as Siri, Cortana and others. Alice today is able to solve a wide range of everyday tasks. For example, tell the weather, to choose the places for a quick bite, looking for answers to the questions of users on the Internet and much more. But the most pleasant difference from Alice’s many other assistants is that it is not limited to a pre-defined set of questions and is able to improvise.
For developers of Yandex it was very important to teach Alice to understand natural human language that we all speak with each other and also to teach her how to deftly get out of many situations not covered by, for example, the Siri. And so was born the world’s first voice assistant that is not limited to set any pre-defined templates. Alice can easily cope with laying of routes, says the latest news, manages the media on your smartphone and, of course, skillfully seeking the information you need online.
What is most interesting, when creating a synthetic voice of Alice was used samples of the voice of the Russian actress Tatyana Shitova. It sounded artificial intelligence, in the original, voiced by Scarlett Johansson in spike Jonze “She”. She also voiced the sorceress Yennefer in the video game “the Witcher 3: wild hunt.” At the moment virtual assistant Alice is available in the application “Yandex” for iOS and Android platforms. For Windows it was also released a beta version of assistant, but in the future we promise to expand the list of platforms, which will be integrated assistant.
