After the reorganization in June of this year and the first meeting of the National space Council, held earlier this week, the news broke about the future of space tourism. Bob Smith, the person in charge of the company Blue Origin, speaking at a meeting of the Council, has shared new details of the plan of the company for the delivery of space tourists into orbit.
As it became known, the company plans to produce first commercial rocket launch to space tourists on Board by April 2019. It should be noted that this is a later date than promised earlier. In the latest statement said that the first tourists will be able to enjoy the space views of our planet to the end of 2018.
“We’ll take people when we are completely ready and not a minute sooner,” commented the company’s statement of Smith in an interview with CNN Money, while insisting that internal timetable, Blue Origin hasn’t been changed.
Blue Origin wants to use his business space tourism to Finance their other ideas, which, most likely, will be associated with the launch of earth satellites. Despite the fact that the company wants to make trips into orbit are available, until the end is unclear how much money will have to pay for the opportunity to admire the view of the planet from the side.
Recall that competition among aspiring to leadership in the field of space tourism develops between several companies. For example, SpaceX is already preparing for the first launch, which should happen in late 2018, Virgin Galatic is also planning to start commercial flights next year.
However, before the same Blue Origin and SpaceX are completely different key tasks. While it is not entirely clear whether SpaceX to continue to implement the tourist launches in addition to what has already been announced, Blue Origin wants to make similar runs on a regular basis. Even the very nature of these flights are totally different. SpaceX wants to send two space tourists on a trip around the moon, and Blue Origin in turn is going to bring people just to the edge of earth’s atmosphere, so that they could feel the effects of weightlessness and enjoy the beautiful views of our planet from the Windows.
Space tourism industry seeks for quite some time. It seems that time for such entertainment has finally come to the end of this decade we can expect the blossoming of space tourism flights.
