Last week we published the news that the Network leaked photos of the virtual reality headset Samsung. To announce it was at the Microsoft event dedicated to the launch of a whole line of devices of mixed reality, developed under license from Redmond Corporation for the Windows operating system 10. During the presentation, the South Korean company Samsung has officially introduced its new headset, called Odyssey. The device must be received by November 3, and opened pre-orders on it starting today.
Headset Samsung Odyssey is equipped with two 3.5-inch AMOLED-display with a resolution of 1440 x 1600 pixels each. Device has a headphone manufacturing company AKG, system of tracking surrounding space and motion controllers, and a microphone. The user will see a virtual reality angle of 110 degrees. Headset Samsung – sixth of the devices that support Windows platform, Mixed Reality, and the first, which comes complete with built-in headphones (this solution resembles the Oculus Rift).
The headset will arrive in stores at a price of 499 dollars, which is significantly more expensive than other devices released under this program. Dell and Lenovo Visor Explorer will cost $ 350 ($450 complete with two controllers), Acer headset will cost not only $ 300 (400 – controllers), HP and the helmet will sell for $ 329 (429 – controllers). The closest to Samsung got the solution from ASUS – it headset was priced at 449 euros, which is approximately equal to $ 500. Pre-order any of these devices right now.
