The Australian government plans to create its own space Agency

Australia hosts the international Astronautical Congress. At the ceremony of its opening in Adelaide was made by the Minister of education, Senator Simon Birmingham. In his welcoming speech, he mentioned about the plans of the government to establish an Australian space Agency.

According to him, the future Agency will be engaged in space research and peaceful development, which can contribute to space exploration. Birmingham noted that the Agency planned to attract specialists from various fields, thus creating new jobs, and the introduction of new space technologies will allow Australia together with partners to work more effectively on joint projects.

Birmingham said that in the future the Australian government will try to cooperate with colleagues from other countries and plans to start negotiations with NASA, the European space Agency “Roscosmos”.

The global space market annually is estimated at about $ 400 billion. Work in this direction can significantly improve the scientific and technical potential of the country.
