SPD wants after worst result in opposition

BERLIN –

The German social democratic party SPD wants in the opposition, after its worst ever results in elections to the Bundestag.

The SPD obtained according to the forecasts on the basis of exitpolls about 20 percent of the votes. The leadership of the party decided that the continuation of the ‘Grand Coalition’ with the christian democrats of chancellor Angela Merkel can be no question, as were vice-chairman Manuela Schwesig and chairman Thomas Oppermann know.

The party-leadership, found that Martin Schulz can remain party chairman. His position is not in question.
